Veteran’s Benefits
For many U.S. military veterans and their surviving spouses, Veteran’s Aid and Attendance Benefits – also known as Improved Pension – can be a crucial part of planning for, and paying for, one’s long-term care needs. Unfortunately, it can be difficult to determine what benefits are available, as well as to navigate through the application process. Moreover, there are income and asset eligibility levels that must be met. With expert planning, a V.A. accredited attorney can assist the Veteran and/or surviving spouse in qualifying for these benefits.

Do You Qualify For Veteran’s Benefits?
While the full scope of eligibility issues for benefits can be quite complex, there are some basic requirements to consider, such as:
- The benefits recipient must have served for a period of 90 days of active duty, one day beginning or ending during a period of War as defined by the Veteran’s Administration
- The benefits recipient must have received an honorable discharge.
- The benefits recipient must be financially and medically eligible for the benefits.
Are you a surviving spouse of a Veteran? A surviving spouse of a Veteran may also be eligible to receive Aid and Attendance benefits if the Veteran met the above requirements.
