Workers Compensation Laws Change in New York

Every worker has the right to a safe work environment. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration, referred to as OSHA is in charge of making sure employees have a safe working environment. OSHA intent is to see that worker are protected from illness caused unsafe conditions, one time injuries and hazard that may cause death. Employers are required to make sure the conditions of their workplace are safe and meet OSHA requirement.

Some example of workplace injuries that can have long term effects are chemical exposure, back and neck injuries, disfigurement , repetitive stress injuries, and psychological and emotional injuries. It is important that a workers’ compensation claim is handled properly so that the worker will receive the full compensation they deserve and that all medical expenses are covered.
