Workers’ Compensation Update:

On Behalf of | Sep 18, 2011 | Uncategorized |

A policy shift at the New York State Workers’ Compensation Board is causing problems for countless numbers of injured workers who had been hurt at work. New medical treatment guidelines were enacted in late 2010 by the New York State Workers’ Compensation Board. The result has been that thousands of injured workers have been denied ongoing medical care for chronic pain management. The new guidelines have been applied retroactively to old cases leaving countless injured workers with no recourse for their chronic pain conditions. Medical professionals are suddenly being forced to drop workers’ compensation patients that they had been treating for years. It is really a very serious situation. Injured workers who were forced in to the workers’ compensation system years ago are suddenly being denied relatively inexpensive medical care which provides much needed pain relief to thousands without the use of narcotics. – Gary C.
