New York man killed in construction accident

In most instances where we discuss construction worker accidents, we are referring to lower-ranking construction workers who make their living doing the hard, hands-on labor of construction projects. However, the construction industry is dangerous for nearly everyone involved, including the managers and owners. It is a simple result of how dangerous construction sites are that anyone who is working on or around one is at risk of serious or fatal injury.

Construction accident in New York kills 2 workers and injures 1

Every construction company should make sure that their buildings are safe, not just for future users but also for the construction workers who are toiling to get the job done. Any accidents during the construction of the establishment, such as electrical accidents, falls and machinery accidents, may be grounds for a lawsuit from the workers or their families if a company is not willing to provide compensation for injuries or lost wages.

'Scaffold Law' continues to draw ire in New York

Construction workers inherently work in a dangerous industry. They are around powerful machinery; they deal with heavy equipment and materials; and the chaotic nature of a construction site lends itself to accidents. Just because these brave people work in a tough industry does not mean that any harm or injuries they suffer is "part of the job." They need laws, protocols and protections to ensure they are covered in case of a terrible construction accident.
