Following federal and NY state hurricane relief efforts, in the last few days New York City has postponed a host of tax filing and payment deadlines all to October 31 as follows:
For filings and payments due between
August 26 and October 31
General Corporation Tax
Unincorporated Business Tax
Banking Corporation Tax
Real Property Transfer Tax
Utility Tax
Cigarette Tax
For returns due September 20
Commercial Rent Tax
Hotel Occupancy Tax
While the City has waived late filing and late payment penalties, you must still pay interest on underpayments — calculated from the original due date.
