Supplemental Needs Trusts

The purpose of a Supplemental Needs Trust, a/k/a, Special Needs Trust or SNT, is to preserve public benefits received by a person with disabilities.

At Angiuli & Gentile, LLP, if a person is receiving governmental benefits under any “means-based programs”, i.e., where there may be limits to their assets and/or income, we can create the appropriate SNT to enable him or her to continue to receive benefits despite having assets or income that would otherwise put the person over these limits.

Is A Supplemental Needs Trust Right For You?

SNTs are often required not only for senior citizens who are receiving Medicaid benefits, but also for disabled person of any age who may be recipients of public benefits in addition to Medicaid, including, but not limited to SSI Section 8 Housing and a variety of other state and federal disability benefits.

Using An SNT For Personal Injury Settlements, Inheritances And More

People receiving disability benefits that are dependent on income and/or asset levels might suddenly risk losing such benefits if they are expecting to receive funds from sources such as an inheritance or a personal injury settlement, or even child support payments.
