Annamarie G. Gentile, the Chair of the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce, attended the Atlantic Salt Maritime Festival

Maritime Festival: Sunday, June 14, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Atlantic Salt, Inc., 561 Richmond Terrace; 718-447-6490

Kids can channel their inner sailor (or pirate) at Atlantic Salt's third free public maritime festival, featuring the US Coast Guard training ship Eagle.

Free music, food and beverages will be available in addition to cadet-guided tours of the Eagle. Staff from the Noble Maritime Collection, Alice Austen House, Staten Island MakerSpace, and the Staten Island Chamber of Commerce will offer activities for children and adults.

The Eagle, a 295-foot barque is one of two sailing vessels commissioned by the United States military. Each summer, she deploys cadets and officer candidates from the US Coast Guard Academy for training voyages and regularly makes calls at United States and foreign ports as an ambassador of good will.
